The lighting release. Setting up a rig used to be the hard part of qDMX. Now it's the easy part.

Setup Assistant, rebuilt. Adding lights used to mean juggling DMX addresses and hoping. Now qPlayer builds your rig one light at a time: pick each fixture from the built-in library, and qPlayer flashes it on stage so you know the right light is answering before it joins the rig. Answer a few questions at the end and it generates seven ready-to-use scenes. Bought more lights since? Run the assistant again and new fixtures join the rig without touching what already works, and your existing scenes learn sensible defaults for them.

qMix Output Mixer. A real output console inside qPlayer: long-throw faders, mutes, solo, and true metering for every output, sitting after your cue levels. Show Readiness. One panel of pre-show checks across audio, video, and lighting, so you walk on stage knowing everything is connected before the first cue fires.

Refinements:

• The scene editor now behaves like a lighting console: Live by default, and your fixture selection stays put when you switch scenes.
• Channel controls now show what each fader actually drives: colours, macros, and built-in programs are labelled right on the control.
• Fixture profiles come from the built-in library first, with a manual channel scan as backup. See the supported fixtures list →
• Lighting output automatically reconnects after a network dropout.
• Show transfers now verify every file on arrival.
• External displays re-attach automatically when plugged back in.
• The free trial countdown is clearer, and buying a plan mid-trial now shows your plan immediately.

Fixes:

• Show Mode on Mac could fail to send DMX output at all. Fixed.
• Opening a show no longer stalls when a misbehaving virtual audio driver wedges the system audio engine.
• If the show library ever fails to open, qPlayer now backs it up and starts fresh instead of refusing to launch.
