What is NDI?
NDI (Network Device Interface) carries video over your existing network (Ethernet or Wi-Fi) to compatible software such as vMix, OBS Studio, and TriCaster. Instead of running an HDMI cable to a switcher or capture card, qPlayer's output appears as a named source that any NDI tool on the same network can pick up.

Enabling NDI
qPlayer on Mac can publish two independent NDI sources:
- qPlayer Video: your cue video and backdrops (the same picture as the external display).
- qPlayer Prompt: the teleprompter output, for a separate confidence feed or lower-third.
- In qPlayer, open Settings and find the NDI options.
- Turn on NDI Video, NDI Prompt, or both.
- Enter Show Mode. The sources begin broadcasting and stay live throughout the show.
Receiving the Feed
- Make sure the receiving computer is on the same network as your Mac.
- In your NDI software, add an NDI source and choose qPlayer Video or qPlayer Prompt from the list.
- To test quickly, NDI Studio Monitor (from the free NDI Tools) will preview either source.
Tip
For production, a wired Ethernet connection on both machines gives the most reliable, lowest-latency feed. Keep your video network separate from busy guest Wi-Fi where you can.
